Cat Hospital Wards

Spacious kennel for cats

A stress-free experience

Cats may be admitted to our feline hospital for day treatment or for an extended stay if they are unwell. We are dedicated to making their experience as stress-free as possible, providing attentive care and a comforting environment to support their recovery.

For cats staying multiple days, our kennels are spacious, with separate areas for food and litter trays to ensure cleanliness and comfort. Each kennel is equipped with ample bedding, hiding boxes and vertical space for perching, catering to your cat’s needs for privacy and exploration.

Our cat intensive care ward

Our intensive care ward caters to cats requiring critical care or recovering from anaesthesia. Each patient is closely monitored with dedicated nursing staff on site 24/7, providing continuous support and immediate attention.

As a Cat Specialist Hospital, we provide a dedicated space exclusively for cats, knowing that they thrive best in an environment free from the presence of dogs. This approach helps to maintain a calm atmosphere and supports their comfort. Additionally, we use soft lighting in the ward to foster a peaceful recovery.

Cat-comfort is top priority

For optimal recovery, cats need to feel safe and secure. Bringing a small amount of their favourite food can help stimulate their appetite in an unfamiliar environment.

We have multiple different types of litter available at CSS, however, if your cat has a a specific preference, then please bring a small amount so that we can keep their routine as similar as possible.

You may also want to bring an item from home with familiar scents for extra comfort, but be aware it might accidentally end up in the laundry vortex.

While we do our best to prevent items from going missing, please avoid sending anything of significant personal value to prevent potential loss.

Patient Stories

Our commitment to feline health is best seen in the stories of the cats we’ve had the privilege of treating. These journeys highlight the dedication, expertise and compassion that drive us.

Each patient faced unique challenges, and it was our honour to offer high-quality care and help them regain strength and happiness. We value the deep bonds with cats and their owners, knowing the difference we make in their lives.

Tango Triumphs Over FIP

At 5 months old, Tango was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Once considered a fatal disease, the introduction of new treatments has significantly boosted the survival rate.

Toffee Survives Tick Paralysis

Toffee faced a frightening battle with tick paralysis and aspiration pneumonia, she was rushed to AES when her owners noticed her vomiting, breathing difficulties and trouble walking.

JJ & the Lily – a close call

Mischievous JJ had a close call when he ingested part of a lily—an extremely toxic plant for cats. Thanks to the quick actions of his owner, Sophie, a VSS vet nurse, JJ made a full recovery.

Han’s Hip Fracture Surgery

Han presented after limping on his hind leg for two weeks following an accident at home. An X-ray revealed a fractured growth plate in his hip, requiring surgery to repair the injury.

Coco and Kidney Troubles

Coco stayed with us at CSS while recovering from a nephrectomy (the surgical kidney removal). After months of unsuccessful treatment for a ureteral obstruction, this became necessary.
