About Cat Specialist Services
Our history
Cat Specialist Services began as the heartfelt vision of Dr Rachel Korman, who aspired to create a dedicated medical sanctuary for cats.
After completing her specialist training in the United Kingdom, she returned to Brisbane to establish a feline-only hospital in partnership with Veterinary Specialist Services (VSS), known for their premier, specialist level patient care in Brisbane for more than twenty years.
Understanding that cats have unique needs compared to dogs, we are committed to providing customised, professional care to enhance patient handling and health outcomes.
As part of this process, we foster a comforting environment where every cat feels safe to reduce stress and enable high-quality healthcare tailored to their needs.
Motivated by a lifelong love of cats
Our love for cats guides everything we do. Each of us traces our passion for them back to childhood, sharing our lives with various cats over the years. Their unique blend of independence and affection makes them truly special, inspiring us to give them the best care possible. It is a privilege to work with these exceptional animals daily, and we find deep fulfilment in helping them lead healthier, happier lives.

What we do
Our practice focuses exclusively on cats, providing specialised care and handling techniques that minimise stress and discomfort.
Our services include consultations, investigations, specialist treatments such as radioactive iodine therapy, surgery and medical boarding.
We support general practice veterinarians with expert advice on complex cases, including managing tricky or fearful felines.
We also offer an extensive resource centre to educate veterinarians and nurses on various conditions, featuring comprehensive information sheets and guidance.
