Dr Brian Shen

BVSc (Hons)
Registrar Dermatology

Dr Brian Shen is a veterinary dermatology registrar with more than five years of dedicated dermatology experience across South East Queensland. He completed his BVSc (Hons) at the University of Queensland in 2019, where a final-year rotation sparked his passion for skin and ear disease.

After a period in general small animal practice, Brian undertook an 18-month dermatology internship in August 2020, followed by a formal three-year residency accredited by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD), which he has now completed. He will soon be preparing to sit his final ACVD board examinations to achieve specialist certification.

Brian manages complex referral cases and plays an active role in mentoring interns, residents and general practitioners. He has presented at national workshops and supported continuing education programs for clinicians across Australia. He enjoys all aspects of dermatology with particular interest in allergic skin disease, ear disease and the use of video otoscopy.

He is passionate about client education and about helping general practitioners feel confident in managing dermatological cases in everyday practice.
