Feline Nurse BappSc-VT
Growing up surrounded by a diverse array of pets, including cats, dogs, horses, guinea pigs, rats and birds, Kristie Philippe always formed the strongest bonds with cats. From a very young age, she knew that working with animals was her calling.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology in 2016, Kristie moved straight into a role in a busy small animal general practice, where she worked full-time for the next eight years and continues to work casually.
During this period, she also completed a Bachelor of Equine Science in 2019, initially planning to transition into mixed practice.
However, Kristie’s passion for feline care emerged, leading her to constantly advocate for feline patients and strive to improve their in-clinic experience. This passion inspired her to move to a specialty hospital, and she began working at CSS in December 2023.
Kristie has a special interest in caring for both very young paediatric patients and elderly geriatric patients. Over the years, her home has welcomed many neonatal bottle babies and “retirees.” Currently, four beloved cats reside with her: Gus (11-year-old grey and white DSH), Ezra (7-year-old silver tabby DSH), Sebastian (1-year-old tabby DSH), and Teddy (6-month-old ginger tabby DLH).
She is committed to continuous learning, with a strong focus on further education to enhance her knowledge and skills. Outside of work, she enjoys various arts and crafts, exploring the outdoors, and travelling.
