Feline Registrar BVs(Hons) MANZCVS (Medicine of Cats)
Dr Stone graduated from the University of Queensland in 2002 and began her career working with both small and large animals. However, she soon realised her strengths and interests were in small animal practice, leading her to focus exclusively on this area.
Growing up with a deep love for cats, Kristy once cared for nine rescue cats. This passion grew during her years as a general practice veterinarian, where she became captivated by the unique personalities of feline patients and the complexities of their health issues and treatments.
In 2008, Kristy decided to deepen her expertise and began a rotating internship at the University of Queensland Small Animal Teaching Hospital. During this time, she also completed a Feline Medicine Post Graduate studies through Sydney University.
After returning to general practice whilst raising her three children, her commitment to feline medicine never wavered.
Kristy is a dedicated member of the International Society of Feline Medicine and achieved Membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Science in Medicine of Cats in 2021.
She completed a Feline Medicine internship with VSS the same year and in October 2024 completed a 3 year Residency Training programme at CSS in Feline Medicine. Kristy is currently working towards Fellowship qualifications to become a registered specialist in Feline Medicine
